Well, here we are in Miami…

I write this sitting in a rented minivan, anxiously awaiting a new life and a bank in north Miami Beach to open so I can get a cashier’s check to move the cats and myself into our new home.

In my last post, I was so excited to have worked on something I was passionate about and grateful to be looking forward to seeing my designs in person, racing around the track. Slightly expecting it wouldn’t happen just because things generally backfire that way but it was something and that was enough… It was way more excitement than I was used to.

At no point did I expect to turn that weekend into a career changing dream job offer that would require me to leave my peaceful mid-century oasis in Atlanta to relocate to Miami. Honestly, if someone had told me it was going to happen before it did, it would have been totally hilarious. I seriously never thought I would ever leave that house. Part of me still doesn’t believe I have…

Yet here we sit and have been sitting for over an hour… Mostly because I drove mach 5 all the way down. In a rented minivan. Me, my two cats and as much stuff as I could pile in here.

We wait. Eager to get the hell out of this van and start our new life.

Right this minute, the cats don’t seem to have the brightest outlook on our new adventure but that’s just because they haven’t seen the new place. Wait, I guess I haven’t seen the new place either. But hey, it’s only been 7 incredibly hectic days since the job offer rolled in.

I’m still not quite sure how I’ve pulled any of this off but I have a feeling it’s going to be an amazing time and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Bluebirds. Everywhere! 🙂
