I watched the new Trainspotting Movie last night. It’s another of several movies I’ve watched recently that made me feel realllllllly old. My friend David and I were somewhat obsessed with the first Trainspotting for whatever reason. We probably watched it 500 times. I watched it again last December. I was amazed at how young everyone was and how low budget the movie felt.
This time, I was amazed at how old everyone was – which is horrifying because it means I have also aged as much. I think the movie would have been good if it hadn’t been relentlessly trying to tie in nostalgic scenes from the first one in a really obvious way. It had to be watched but this was the only scene that I felt was pure, memorable and slightly ironic. It earns it’s place here for so many reasons.
Now that I’m done blogging, I can get back to choosing disappointment, smothering the pain, watching history repeat itself and never learning from my own mistakes lol
